I heard this song "Brass in Pocket" by The Pretenders at the gym tonight and was immediately transported back to watching Rory Flack Burghart skate to the song during the 1995 Rider's Championship. What a charismatic, explosive athlete! My family also had the pleasure of seeing Rory skate in The Nutcracker, also starring Oksana Baiul and Victor Petrenko, in 1995. I vividly remember Oksana having a rough night (she had a knee injury), but Rory stole the show with her enchanting performance as the Sugarplum Fairy.
